Good Cheer Quilts are a fun and quick quilting project our members can do at their leisure at home. Our Good Cheer Quilt committee prepares packages of pre-cut fabrics and a coordinating pattern ready for our members to take come and complete. These lovely quilts are donated to "Interfaith Community Services" who in turn distribute them to the Community for those in need of good cheer.
Rare Bears is an effort near and dear to our hearts. The Rare Sciences organization is dedicated to researching and treating rare diseases that impact lives all over the world. the Rare Bears Army is a group dedicated to assembling bears which are then given to children all over the world suffering from these rare diseases.
Our Security Blankets are made in an effort to support the Palomar Hospital Forensic Department. These fleece blankets, comprised of one and 2/3 yards of solid color fleece fabric, are entirely supplied and finished by our members. The finished blankets are given to the Forensics department and are shared with those who have had to surrender their clothing and other belongings as evidence. These blankets are provided to them at the Hospital so that they have a something other than their hospital gown to keep them warm.
The members of the guild's Escondido South Community Group have been donating their sewing efforts to create quilts for this great organization dedicated to helping those less fortunate in San Diego County.
